Adjunct Faculty at the IJPA are invited specialists who contribute their particular expertise to select modules, workshops, and masterclasses. They bring depth from diverse disciplines and clinical traditions. Their teaching offers students exposure to specialized methods, advanced topics, and emerging areas of practice within the broader field of psychedelic and depth-oriented work.

Dr. Angeliki Yiassemides
Dr. Angeliki Yiassemides is a Jungian analyst (IAAP) and a psychedelic-assisted psychotherapist (MIND Foundation, Berlin). Trained in both the classical lineage of analytical psychology and contemporary psychedelic science, her work bridges symbolic, mythopoetic understanding with preparation and integration of altered states of consciousness. She holds an MA and an MPhil in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University, and a PhD in Psychoanalytic Studies (Analytical Psychology) from the University of Essex, and is a published Jungian scholar. Angeliki maintains a private practice and lectures internationally. She currently lives in Cyprus.
Dr. Adam Andros Aronovich
Dr. Adam Andros Aronovich is a medical anthropologist with a PhD in Anthropology and Communications and is an active member of the Medical Anthropology Research Center (MARC-URV). A long-term student and researcher of various magico-medical systems around the world, he has facilitated workshops and retreats in the Amazon rainforest and the Mexican coast for almost a decade. Adam is the co-founder of Hidden Hand Media, a creative agency at the intersection of psychedelia, technology, and society, and the creator of Healing from Healing, a social media platform that casts a critical, skeptical, and humorous gaze at Healing and Transformation Culture.
Dr. Arash Golnam
Dr. Arash Golnam, IAAP, is a Jungian psychoanalyst trained at the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich. A citizen of Iran and Switzerland, he is now based in Lima, Peru. His personal and professional path weaves together Persian poetry, Jungian depth psychology, and plant medicine, bridging traditions and worldviews across continents and centuries. Drawing on lived experience with Shipibo healers in the Peruvian Amazon, Andean curanderos, and Mazatec healers in Huautla de Jiménez, he explores the synergy that can emerge when analytical psychology enters dialogue with ancestral medicine lineages. Before dedicating himself fully to psychoanalysis, he worked as a university lecturer, scientist, consultant, and engineer. He holds a Ph.D. in Systems Science from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and an M.S. in System Dynamics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Carolina Rosales-Wyman
Carolina Rosales-Wyman, LCSW, is a Jungian analyst and psychotherapist and a member of the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco, where she teaches about diversity issues. Her work integrates analytical psychology, trauma-informed care, and contemplative depth practice. Born and raised in El Salvador and rooted in her Latin American heritage, she has engaged in cross-cultural learning with Shipibo and Mazatec Indigenous healers, informing her respectful, lineage-aware approach to spiritual and altered-state experiences. She offers Jungian analysis, EMDR, and psychedelic preparation and integration, including ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. She works in Greenbrae, California, with individuals navigating trauma, life transitions, and archetypal or spiritually meaningful experiences, with interest in discerning personal and collective psyche encounters and those carrying a felt sense of autonomous presence.
Felicia Matto-Shepard
Felicia Matto-Shepard, M.S., is a Certified Jungian Analyst member of the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco. A lifelong student of psycho-spiritual development, Felicia works at the threshold where inner experience transforms into image and expression. She has been shaped by decades of embodiment practice, art-making, dreamwork and psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. Felicia facilitates psychedelic integration work with individuals and groups utilizing art making, ritual and movement. Felicia holds a Certificate in Psychedelic Therapies and Research from California Institute of Integral Studies. Her work is informed by indigenous medicine practitioners as well as contemporary Western consciousness-exploring psychedelic practitioners. Felicia is a Training Analyst and teaches internationally on depth psychotherapy, active imagination and creativity. Finally, she spent 18 years working with the dying at Hospice of Petaluma.
Dr. Ido Cohen
Dr. Ido Cohen, PsyD, has a private practice in San Francisco, where he treats individuals, couples, and group. He received his Psy.D from the California Institute of Integral Studies and trained at the Jung Institute in San Francisco, focusing on the implication of relational psychoanalysis and Jungian psychology for the treatment of trauma and psycho-spiritual development. His doctoral study researched the integration process of Ayahuasca ceremonies, applying Jungian psychology to understand how to support individuals in integration and transformation. He is the founder of The Integration Circle, a training and education platform in the psychedelic therapy space, and teaches on the intersection of mental health treatment, psychedelic therapy, and psychospiritual growth for Psychedelics Today, DoubleBlind Magazine, Kiyumi retreats, and organizations.
Johanna Hilla Sopanen
Johanna Hilla Sopanen is a scholar, educator, and facilitator specializing in psychedelics and depth psychology. Her work integrates symbolic thinking, meaning-making, and altered states of consciousness across online and in-person contexts, incorporating creativity, ritual, and ethical psychedelic practice. She holds a Master’s degree, with a dissertation on Carl Jung’s Red Book, completed during an internship at Fundación Vocación Humana, a Jungian center in Buenos Aires. She has contributed to Philosophy & Psychedelics (Bloomsbury, 2022), coordinated the 12-month Vital Psychedelic Education and Training program, and currently works as an assistant psychologist on the MORE-KARE ketamine trial supporting individuals recovering from alcohol addiction. In addition, she serves as a tutor for ADEPT Psychedelic Therapy Training and offers facilitation, mentorship, and depth-oriented coaching for individuals and professionals.
Dr. Kile Ortigo
Dr. Kile Ortigo is a clinical psychologist (2012) and CIIS-certified psychedelic psychotherapist (2019) at the Center for Existential Exploration in Palo Alto, California, where he offers depth-oriented psychotherapy and integration support. Dr. Ortigo received his PhD from Emory University and worked for the National Center for PTSD for several years where he led mental health app and web development and evaluation projects. He has served on the advisory board of Psychedelic Support and has published two books in the field—Treating Survivors of Child Abuse and Interpersonal Trauma: STAIR Narrative Therapy (2nd Edition, coauthored, 2020) and Beyond the Narrow Life: A Guide for Psychedelic Integration and Existential Exploration (2021), which includes a foreword by Johns Hopkins psychologist, Dr. Bill Richards.
Marc Aixalà
Marc Aixalà is a Telecommunications Engineer and Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Integrative Therapy and Strategic Brief Therapy. He is a senior Holotropic Breathwork facilitator and trainer certified by Grof Transpersonal Training, and the author of Psychedelic Integration: Psychotherapy for Non-Ordinary States. He has extensive experience in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, including clinical applications of psilocybin for depression at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, and training with MAPS in the therapeutic use of MDMA. He co-founded the ICEERS Integration and Support Service, volunteered with Kosmicare, created the ICEERS Integration Training, and currently participates in psilocybin clinical trials. Based in Barcelona, he offers psychotherapy and mentors psychedelic therapists as an integration psychotherapy specialist and trainer, supporting professional growth within community.
Dr. Mohamed Elnawawi
Dr. Mohamed Elnawawi is a consultant psychiatrist with an interest in depth-oriented psychotherapy and the relationship between inner experience, culture, and altered states of consciousness. Having lived in different countries, he brings a transcultural perspective to his work. He completed his psychiatric training and clinical practice in Cairo and Zurich and, as a consultant psychiatrist in liaison psychiatry, engaged in work across medical specialties. During his psychiatric training, he studied psychology at the Jung Institute in Küsnacht, Zurich. He holds a Master’s degree in Medical Anthropology, shaping his affinity with symbolic processes, cultural narratives, and collective contexts. In practice in Zurich, and as a member of the SÄPT Society of Physicians for Psycholytic Therapy, his work integrates Jungian concepts and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
Dr. Sam Gandy
Dr. Sam Gandy is a lifelong nature lover, PhD ecologist, independent researcher and science communicator, with work spanning the ecological and psychedelic fields. His work as an independent researcher has involved collaborations with a range of academics and institutes, including affiliations with the Psychedelic and Exceptional Experience Lab (PEEL) at the University of Greenwich and the Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) at the University of Virginia, as well as collaborations with the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London, University of Zurich, Onaya Science, the Beckley Foundation and the Institute of Noetic Sciences. His research spans the transformative potential of altered states of consciousness, with a primary focus on the capacity of psychedelic substances to influence human relationships with nature.
Dr. Scott Hill
Dr. Scott Hill authored Confrontation with the Unconscious: Jungian Depth Psychology and Psychedelic Experience (2013), which Jungian analyst Stephen Martin, President Emeritus of the Philemon Foundation, described as “a comprehensive volume, the first significant reconsideration of psychedelics in light of Jungian psychology since the 1950s [and] a sourcebook for those interested in such a natural interface.” Scott holds degrees in psychology and educational psychology (University of Minnesota) and Philosophy & Religion, Ph.D. (California Institute of Integral Studies). He has spoken internationally on Jungian insights into psychedelic experience and psychotherapy, including for the Jung Institute of San Francisco and the Moscow Association of Analytical Psychology. He has contributed to anthologies, including Psychedelics and Therapy: The Healing Potential of Expanded States.
Simon Yugler
Simon Yugler is an internationally experienced psychedelic therapist, educator, and author of the book, Psychedelics and the Soul: A Mythic Guide to Psychedelic Healing, Depth Psychology, and Cultural Repair. With a master’s in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, he has taught for some of the leading psychedelic facilitator training programs in the United States, including CIIS, Pacifica Graduate Institute, and Naropa University. A speaker at the MAPS 2025 Psychedelic Science conference, Simon has also lectured and taught internationally. With a background in anthropology and experiential education, Simon’s early travels brought him into contact with Indigenous traditions throughout the world. With over two decades of experience working with psychedelic medicines, Simon is committed to helping his clients and students navigate the liminal wilds of the soul.
Dr. Stephen Asatsa
Dr. Stephen Asatsa is a senior lecturer of Psychology. He holds a PhD (Counseling Psychology) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. His research interests include Thanatology and Indigenous Knowledge systems in Psychology. He is a licensed Psychologist in Kenya. He leads multiple research projects globally with focus on Traditional Mourning Rituals, Trauma and Death Literacy. He advocates for decolonization of knowledge and amplification of indigenous epistemology in research. He strongly promotes the inclusion of community voices and wisdom of elders in formal education. He advocates for the demolition of mental and physical walls around institutions of learning to facilitate free movement of knowledge between the community institutions of learning.
Timmy Davis
Timmy Davis is the founder of The Psychedelic Experience Clinic and director of Psychedelic Policy and Regulation at the Centre for Evidence Based Drug Policy (CEBDP). He co-founded and serves as policy director for the Psilocybin Access Rights (PAR) campaign and is a trainee at the Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. Timmy has supported psilocybin trials for treatment-resistant depression at King’s College London and led volunteer teams in welfare and harm reduction at festivals, including Kosmicare at Boom Festival in Portugal and events across the UK. He has authored and presented works such as New, Strange, Odd and Weird Perceptions: A Lacanian Approach to Psychedelic Experience (2020) and The Rips, Tears, and Ruptures of Epistemic Injury (2025), exploring psychoanalytic perspectives on psychedelic phenomena.
Dr. Umberto Pannacci
Dr. Umberto Pannacci is a medical doctor specialized in Neuropsychiatry of Childhood and Adolescence who works in an Intensive Residential Treatment Center for Children and Adolescents in Modena, Italy. During his internship, he trained at the Sleep Disorders Center of Hôpital Universitaire Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, studying REM sleep and narcolepsy-psychosis correlations. He holds a Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies from the AWE Foundation (Colombia) and is a longtime student of Jungian psychology. He is actively training in the Rinzai Zen tradition under Meido Moore Roshi, abbot of Korinji Monastery (USA). His primary interest lies in exploring altered states of consciousness, mental health, and reality through a transdisciplinary approach.
