After Prophecy
Opening the Eyes of Fire
Lecturer: Tom Cheetham
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 3 - April 2, 2026
Time: 4:00 - 5:30 (Eastern Time)
Teaching method: Online
Description:
This class will be a series of lectures centering on my third book. It has been issued in two editions, the first time as After Prophecy: Imagination, Incarnation and the Unity of the Prophetic Tradition - Lectures for the Temenos Academy, an embarrassingly long and portentous title. You can still get it used on amazon - it has a lovely cover. But Spring Journal went out of business several years ago, and Klaus Ottman at Spring Publications adopted both my first and third books when Spring Journal met its untimely end. I’m forever grateful to him for this. I restrained myself for the revised edition, so the title is simply After Prophecy: Opening the Eyes of Fire. It is also available as a kindle book.
From the Reviews
Cheetham’s passion for the material carries the reader into an ever-deepening appreciation of the tremendous importance of Henry Corbin for the re-valuation of vision and imagination… It seems to me a faultless book. - James Hillman
Cheetham’s lucid and profound reading of Corbin, his patient, knowing, sincerely humble voice, wil serve to commend and demystify the timeless yet urgent message of his subject. His labor has produced marvelously accessible and true descriptions touching the essence of Corbin’s work. In the context of this beautifuly written and deeply illumined study, Cheetham’s language never sounds facile, glib, or clever. Anyone who is interested in anything must read this book. - Todd Lawson, Professor of Islamic Thought, University of Toronto
This book is one of my favorites but it has gotten less commentary from my readers than any of the others. It seems to be the lost child of the family and I’m looking forward to checking in with her to see how she’s doing. The chapters are as follows:
I. Mystical Poverty and the Theory of the World
II. The Un-Refused Feast
III. The Flame of Things
IV. The Cross of Light
V. Touching Grace
VI. Words of the Heart
VII. A Personal Story
We will do a bit more than a chapter a week for 5 weeks, meeting twice a week. I hope you’ll consider joining us. I’ll remind you all again at least once before we begin.

Psychedelics and Active Imagination:
Navigating the Unconscious on the Path of Individuation
Lecturer: Felicia Matto-Shepard, MFT, Jungian Analyst
Date: Friday, March 13, 2026
Time: 19:30 (Central Time)
Teaching method: In person
Location: St. George's Episcopal Church, New Orleans, Louisiana
Description:
Jung cautioned against the use of psychedelics back in the 1950’s for fear that this way of opening the portals to the unconscious could cause a tsunami of material, fragmenting or overwhelming the conscious ego. Meanwhile, Jung was creating practices such as Dreamwork and Active Imagination to help navigate this specific terrain--of integrating messages and eruptions from the unconscious into meaningful material. This presentation will look at ways Jungian psychology is contributing to the modern-day field of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Specifically, we will consider the use of active imagination in navigating the complexes, symbols, and archetypal forces that can arise during a psychedelic session--both during a psychedelic-enhanced experience and in the integrative process afterward.

OPEN Foundation Journal Club #23:
Inner Healing Intelligence
Speakers: Keith Williams
Event: OPEN Foundation Journal Club #23
Date: Tuesday, April 7, 2026
Time: 08:00 PM (Central European Summer Time)
Event format: Online
Location: OPEN Foundation Community Platform
Description:
This online journal club session invites participants to slow down and engage in a reflective discussion on the concept of Inner Healing Intelligence (IHI) within psychedelic-assisted therapy. Traditionally understood as an innate tendency toward healing within the individual, this event expands the perspective by exploring whether healing may also be relational, ecological, and embodied.
The discussion will be led by experts in the field and aims to deepen understanding of how therapeutic processes unfold not only internally, but also in connection with others and the broader environment.

Fiann Paul at the IRSJA Spring Conference in Boulder
Speaker: Fiann Paul, M.Arch, CGeog, Hon.MM
Event: Spring Conference of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA)
Event Dates: April 22 - 25, 2026
Lecture Date: Thursday, April 23, 2026
Lecture Time: 07:00 PM - 08:00 PM (Mountain Time)
Location: Embassy Suites, Boulder, Colorado, USA
Description:
This conference presentation will introduce the mission and work of the International Jungian Psychedelic Association (IJPA), an organization created to place analytical psychology in meaningful dialogue with the rapidly expanding field of psychedelic research and practice. As the current renaissance is predominantly shaped by biomedical and neuroscientific perspectives, the talk highlights the importance of a depth-psychological approach grounded in symbolic understanding and ethical responsibility when engaging with non-ordinary states.
Fiann Paul will present the association’s vision, structure, and academic as well as clinical objectives, including its faculty model, educational initiatives, and commitment to rigorous Jungian scholarship within contemporary psychedelic discourse. Attention will also be given to the growing number of analysts and candidates encountering psychedelic material in clinical settings, and to the ways this phenomenon is challenging and expanding prevailing conceptions of psyche, symbol, and psychological transformation.
Conceived as a collegial and dialogical contribution rather than a commercial presentation, the session aims to foster thoughtful discussion about how analytical psychology can help shape the future development of this emerging field.
